Me and my friend Angela Batie and her daughter Melayna A. Powell in a freestyle (improv) session fishing for choreography within ourselves.

The music we danced to didn't happen to end up in the video I challenge you to pick your favorite song on your iPod, MP3, CD, Cassette tape, Pandora station, 22tracks jazz station from Paris, etc. See if interconnectedness finds its way between music and movement. Which in this case are completely disconected to the naked eye, the logical mind....right? or wrong? You decide.

I'm truly happy and proud of you! if you don't understand what the hell is going on then just look away and listen to the song you put on. Random Thoughts: The Word Good

So I've been thinking about the people who surround me and the conversations we have. My Co-Workers, My Family, My Friends and the strangers my friendly-ass can't help but speak if they make eye contact with me on the street. And me being more southern than city by nature, I always address people by saying "How you doin'?" And the answer I always get is "Good, Good!".

I ask myself WHAT THE HELL DOES GOOD MEAN? And in my years of study the only answer I can come up with is good is actually an acronym missing two letters. G.O.O.M.D.B. which stands for Get Out Of My Damn Business. Nobody wants to tell you how they're really doing. Society doesn't encourage complainers, loosers, etc. If you have problems you're weak! So we have this expression known as the word GOOD. It's one of those many words where you speak without say a damn thing that's really meaning-FULL. That's why the English language is sooo shallow cuz it's chocked full of em'. But I'm not writing this to criticize, this is more of a celebration of my epiphany and my determination to expand my vocabulary and not use this word in hopes that I may inspire others so that one day we can have meaning-full interactions/dialogues with each other as human beings. Because to me that's one of blessings life gives us: the ability inter-act, inter-change, inter-course. Enter each other and come out the other side more informed, more creative, more imaginative, inspired, hopeful, etc. I have a dream like Martin Luther King Jr. I guess.

I intend to be alive to see it come true. For right now I have to consciously and actively challenge myself everyday to express myself even if I know the person asking doesn't really wanna know my answer. To challenge my fear of rejection, to challenge my fear of making people uncomfortable. Expression is all I have in this life. I have to use my dearest resource but overcoming my lesser self. So I start with good and end up at supercalahfrajahlisticS.P.allahdopescious or some other word not yet transfused by a distant language of the past.

Arrogant Bastard: The Death of the Old Me

born out of wedlock,
a bastard for a child,
though given the name of joy
she played the opposite part
angry, unhappy, uninspired,
blaming.

But blinded by delusion

of what?
she'd say: I see nothing but a lack of self-worth, self-love, self-esteem and self-respect
her environment was a relfection of her IN-vironment

so she lacked.

to take herself back
to have her self's back
to walk ever forward without looking back
her best friend is
forgiveness
her truth is strength
she is in this to win this

her parents weren't married when they had her
because they were determined to be married to her

in her heart
grieving the death of her lesser self
